Nicky British Accent

Nicky is an amazing teacher. She is a true professional who can detect what exactly is wrong about my pronunciation and she never runs out of ideas for explaining how I can improve. Her classes are not only extremely helpful but also a lot of fun. I've taken many classes with many teachers for different languages on iTalki and it's generally really hard to get any corrections or suggestions for improvement once having passed the intermediate level, so Nicky really stands out for the level of feedback she can provide. Some of the things she taught me, like glottal stops, or knowing more about tongue placement, even helped me improve my pronunciation in other languages. If you want to improve your pronunciation, taking a class with Nicky is absolutely worth it.

Today, a guy remarked that I sound very British, prompting me to reflect on my past year with Nicola. She is undoubtedly the finest teacher I've encountered, a professional with a clear program, vision, and understanding of her objectives. The lessons are extremely efficient. I would say that, overall, pronunciation lessons are a really good idea. You kill two birds with one stone by practicing English while learning about it. Nicky is an ideal instructor to begin this journey with.

It’s been a year since I started taking lessons with Nicky. She is an excellent teacher, and it’s worth every penny. She helped identify all the sounds that I had mistakenly mapped from my native language. She also provides a platform that makes it easy for me to practise those sounds regularly until they’re drilled into my memory. You get to learn not only phonetics, but also advanced concepts like intrusion, elision, old RP vs. modern RP phonetics, and glottal stops (not just dropping the t). Pronunciation is a huge topic, but it often takes a backseat in most ESL classes, and people don’t usually correct you when you mispronounce. I highly suggest studying with her, especially if you’re an advanced English learner and want to take your English to the next level!

Nicky is not only an amazing teacher, she has created a whole system for studying outside of classes that made practicing on my own easier and more effective. The materials are clear, easy to follow, and really helped me stay on track. She has an amazing ear for detail and catches even the smallest things, which has made a great difference in my progress. I’ve already had people compliment me on my accent, and that’s all thanks to Nicky’s guidance. If you want a coach who truly listens and helps you improve fast, Nicky is the one!
