Hi! I'm Yunzheng, from Fujian, in the southeast of China. I grew up in both China and the US. After my bachelor's from the College of William & Mary, I moved to Mexico City and started my teaching career as an English teacher at a K-12 bilingual school. I fell in love with language teaching, and got my master's in Language Teaching from University College London. I have taught English and Chinese to students of different ages in Shanghai, London and Oxford. Recently, I earned Qualified Teacher Status in the UK.
I'm an avid language learner and traveler! I also speak Spanish and work as a Mandarin-Spanish translator for TV series. I love traveling and have been to more than 60 countries.지도 경험
This past year, I taught English at a summer program at the University of Oxford and taught Mandarin at one of the best language schools in London. I am friendly and patient, and know firsthand the challenges of language learning. Therefore, if you are a beginner, I have the materials to support you build a solid foundation of the target language. We will focus on grammar, pronunciation and vocabulary. After the beginner stage, the most important is language immersion. We will speak in the target language and talk about different topics depending on your interest. Real-life materials such as videos and news articles will be used to expand your vocabulary and make learning more engaging!내 강의 및 지도 스타일
📚 BEGINNER TO INTERMEDIATE English & Chinese classes:
✔ Use textbooks & PowerPoints to give you a structured learning experience
✔ Use other authentic materials such as videos to make learning more fun
✔ Focus on Reading/Listening/Speaking/Writing/Vocabulary depending on your needs
✔ Homework will be assigned & you will practice a lot!
📚 English & Chinese CONVERSATION classes:
✔ Topics include: Travel, Work, Tech, Culture, Education, or anything you are interested in!
✔ Totally OK to make mistakes! I will listen carefully and correct your mistakes in our Google Doc (correct grammar, expand vocabulary & improve pronunciation)
✔ Worksheet or extra material is provided!

Yunzheng is a great teacher and there are a few points I find extraordinary. First, unlike other teachers, she is very well prepared for conversation practice lessons offering a wide variety of interesting conversation topics making these lessons very engaging. Second, Yunzheng is a greatly experienced teacher who is very excited about language learning. Finally, Yunzheng speaks native level English and can immediately give perfect Chinese translations even for very advanced terms/phrases.

I really love Yunzheng. Having the class with her can makes my boring life colorful. At the same time, I can also make progress in English speaking. She makes me more confident than before about my English, because there are so many students majoring in English who speak English very well and I was so sad about my English. Yunzheng is not only one of the most passionate, dedicated, and caring tutors I have taken iTalki classes with, but she is also one of the most exemplary teachers I have ever learned from in education as a whole. Every class is filled with good conversation and smiles, and I leave every class feeling more confident in my ability to speak Chinese. I can't recommend Yunzheng enough.
