Hello, my name is Yumiko! I’m a native Japanese speaker. I was born in Beppu, Kyusyu in Japan and now I live in Osaka. It's been 4 years since I became a italki teacher. I'm really enjoying talking with people who have different backgrounds regardless of their age or gender. Let's talk about anything you want in our lesson! I'm an active person because I love traveling abroad, cooking, and playing sports. I'm looking forward to talking with you! こんにちは！私の名前はゆみこです。別府市出身の日本人です。今は大阪府に住んでいます。italkiの先生になって4年になります。年齢、性別関係なく色々な人たちと話すのがとても好きです。レッスンでは何でも好きなことをお話ししましょう！私はアクティブで、海外旅行や料理、スポーツが大好きです。皆さんとお話できるのを楽しみにしています！

I have experience teaching kids, so I’m aware of the struggles that language learners can experience. It doesn’t matter what level of Japanese you have, as I can also help you in English if you prefer, even though I'm not quite fluent in English yet though. I thoroughly enjoy teaching, so let's have fun learning together! 私は子どもの英語の先生の経験があるので、生徒さんが何で苦労しているのか分かります。日本語のレベルは関係ありませんので、ご希望があれば英語を使いながら日本語を教えることも可能です。英語がそんなに上手ではないですが、教えることが好きなので一緒に楽しみながら学びましょう！

내 강의 및 지도 스타일

In my lessons, I am totally open to students' requests. I mainly focus on conversation, using either textbooks or topics for discussion. You can also use your own textbooks or materials if you prefer. I organize our lessons flexibly. I have Japanese textbooks available, such as Genki 2nd edition and Minna no Nihongo. If you have any questions, feel free to ask! 私の授業では生徒さんのリクエスト通りのレッスンをします。主にレッスンでは、会話の練習や教科書を使ったり、何かのトピックについて話しをしています。もし使いたい教科書や教材があれば教えてください。柔軟に対応します。私はGenki第二版とMinna no Nihongoを持っています。もし質問があればお気軽にメッセージください！

With Yumiko's help, I'm able to read written stories at an N4 level, 4 months after starting to learn Japanese. She even wrote out the story in hiragana afterwards. An amazing teacher, definitely the best I've had on Italki.

Yumiko was very informative and helpful in setting out a gameplan to achieve my goals. Anytime I was looking for the correct words to use, she was patient with me and supported me in first search by myself, then providing assistance if need be. She has a lot of book material for practicing grammar or just free talk. You can tell she is very well experienced in tutoring!
