I appreciate Shinnie’s patience and his creative way of explaining how and why grammar and sentence structure is used. I am also grateful for his constant reminders to avoid overthinking and stick to the formula that works. More and more I am getting comfortable with thinking in the language instead of trying to remember or guess at what I want to say. The stress I felt in the beginning when I was trying to use the Korean I thought I knew is gone. I realize that I didn’t learn anything really useful before I started taking lessons with Shinnie. I am relieved to see how he is moving me forward without feeling like I have to make it past a certain level. Knowing that there are no levels removes a lot of pressure. The resource, his encyclopedia, is priceless because it is so thorough and I always have access to it. I am more confident because Shinnie is giving me the language tools that will lead me to independently conversation in Korean.

I have been having lessons with Shinne for a year now. Shinnie is patient, respectful and passionate about his students learning. When I thought I wasn’t progressing he showed me how much I have learned and helped restore my confidence. Shinnie has taught me how to study successfully again using his proven methods and my self-confidence has grown. I know Shinnnie teaches people with ADHD, stuttering, mental illnesses, and disabilities as I have some of these conditions. However, he has never discriminated against me and has been truly dedicated to my Korean learning. I have tried learning with other Korean teachers who have given me false compliments which I did not find productive. Shinnie has helpfully pointed out attitudes or habits that have hindered my progress and he is always honest about my skills and goals. You can trust him and just follow his guidance—without overthinking or false delusions. Shinnie is an excellent, top rate teacher. If I can do it, you can too.

시니씨 is truly a great teacher. Whenever I feel stuck or doubtful about my progress, his way of teaching makes me believe that I can reach a much better level. His presence and teaching style naturally make me more passionate about learning and studying Korean. What surprised me the most was realizing that I now understand sentences I couldn’t understand before. There were moments when I could simply read what he wrote and understand it immediately, without translating it in my head. That experience was honestly shocking in the best way, and it made me extremely happy. No matter what, he consistently shows up for his students, supports them, and encourages them to keep going. He is kind, patient, and genuinely motivating. Starting classes with 시니씨 was one of the best decisions I could have made, and I am truly grateful for his guidance.

I just came back yesterday from a 3 week trip to Korea from 14 June till yesterday. I am very thankful for every lesson I had with Shinnie. I only started studying learning Korean with him for 9 months, however I been doing so good in Korean as he is very honest and he corrects my regression. Thanks to Shinnie now I could speak Korean very well so I didn’t face any major language barriers in Korea. During the trip I free talked to lots of Taxi drivers for like 70% of the ride in Korean using the precious skills I gained from 9 months of classes with Shinnie that teaches free talk, grammar, words. More than 25 people in Korea during the 3 weeks praised my Korean. One even question whether I lived in Korea for very long or I had a Korean mother. I formed many connections in Korea due to my Korean skills. I went outside of tourists areas such as Seoul and Busan and I went to Korean countryside and I got praised there. If I couldn’t spoke Korean I wouldn’t be able to venture out of Seoul.

I've only been learning with Shinnie for about three days now, but his approach has both made the material extremely easy to retain and has also helped me learn more than I did in a month with other resources. If you have any doubts, I highly encourage you to schedule a trial lesson and see just how effective his teaching really is. I plan to leave another review in the future, after I've learned some more, to show my progress and really highlight just how great Shinnie is.

시니 씨, 1년 동안 가르쳐 주셔서 감사합니다. 많은 선생님을 만나고 책과 앱도 사용해 봤지만 100% 솔직하고 전략적으로 가르치는 선생님은 시니 쌤밖에 없어요. 사실, 선생님을 만나기 전에 다른 선생님과 열심히 공부하고 디스코드라는 앱에서 한국어를 써 봤지만 못 한다고 욕을 많이 먹었습니다. 하지만, 시니 씨 선생님 덕분에 거의 1년밖에 공부 안 했는데도 7년 동안 한국어 공부한 사람보다 더 잘 한다는 말을 들었어요. 그것도 한국에서 한국 사람들한테 들었어요. 시니 선생님은 13년간 개발해 온 백과사전이 있어서 모든 사람들에게 가장 중요하지만 가장 헷갈리는 문법이랑 단어를 먼저 가르쳐 주시고 말하기, 듣기, 쓰기, 읽기, 여행, 음식, 영화, 게임, 정치, 경제, 토픽 시험 등 모든 주제를 그 자리에서 바로 가르칠 수 있어요. 선생님이 저한테 한국 사람이 가장 많이 쓰는 마스터 문법 10개를 가르쳐 주셨고 그 이후에는 선생님 없이도 모든 문법을 저 혼자서 공부할 수 있었어요. 그래서 수업 안 할 때는 혼자 문법을 외우면서 문장을 만들고 수업할 때는 항상 새로운 주제로 원어민처럼 연습하고 잘못된 정보와 나쁜 습관을 수정하는 것에만 집중할 수 있었어요. 그래서 이렇게 다른 사람들보다 더 빨리 공부할 수 있었던 것 같아요. 결과적으로, 열심히 수업하다 보니 한국 사람들을 만날 때마다 긴장하지 않고 유창하게 대화할 수 있게 됐어요. 그리고, 저는 올해 6월 14일부터 7월 6일까지 한국에서 뜻깊고 즐거운 여행을 했어요. 작년에 선생님을 만나지 않았더라면 올해 한국 여행했을 때 즐거운 추억을 쌓지 못 했을 거예요. 특히, 한국에서 택시를 탔을 때마다 택시 기사님이랑 다양한 주제에 대해 이야기를 했어요. 한국어를 어떻게 잘 하게 됐는지, 한국 생활은 어떤지, 역사에 대해 어떻게 생각하는지에 대해 이야기했어요. 선생님! 감사합니다! 저는 세계적으로 한국어를 제일 잘하는 외국인이 되고 선생님에게 자랑스러운 학생이 될게요. 앞으로도 잘 부탁드립니다. 열심히 하겠습니다.
