My name is Joe - I’m a native Welsh speaker and a Welsh tutor here on iTalki. I was born and raised in Aberystwyth, west Wales, and attended Welsh-medium schools throughout my education. I graduated from Oxford University with a degree in Japanese with Chinese. I love teaching and learning languages :)

I can teach through the medium of English, French, Spanish or Japanese.

I have significant experience in personal tutoring and working within education more generally. I have been tutoring languages for 5 years now and have also worked as a teaching assistant in Welsh-medium secondary schools. I teach *both North and South dialects*.내 강의 및 지도 스타일
I offer three main ‘types’ of teaching:
> Free Conversation - Examples of possible conversation topics include hobbies, news, language learning, and Wales/Welsh Culture.
> Grammar/Vocabulary - We will take a detailed look at Welsh grammar, suited to your level. We can go at whatever speed you like.
> Advanced - We will take a look at newspaper articles and learn advanced Welsh vocabulary.
I can teach some grammar in conversation classes, but note that conversation is always the main focus in those classes. If you would like structured grammar classes (50+% of our time spent studying grammar), I would recommend choosing the grammar class.내 수업 자료

Joe was brilliant. He was very calm and patient. He listened to what I was saying throughout the lesson and answered any questions I had relating to the beautiful welsh language. He explained everything throughly in a way that I could understand and asked if I understood what was said and if I had any questions or anything. Will certainly be booking again and will 100% recommend Joe to anyone thinking of learning the welsh language.

Joe is a great teacher and is able to explain Welsh grammar to me in a way that is easy to understand and remember. This was my first lesson with Joe. Before, I have been learning Welsh independently and casually with family. He encouraged me to build my own sentences which made me feel more confident in my ability. If I made a mistake, I felt encouraged for trying. I will definitely be booking more lessons with Joe. After one lesson, I feel more motivated to learn Welsh! Diolch yn fawr iawn!

Joe is very organised. He asked me my aims for the sessions, helped me as we went along, provided feedback at the end and suggested things we could do during future sessions. We also talked through a news article, which was interesting and helpful with learning new vocabulary. I would certainly recommend Joe and I will be booking more conversation sessions with him.

Joe gives patient feedback and ensures that I understand. He helps me properly practice vocabulary that is organic for me to use, not from lists. He explains Welsh grammar in an easy to understand manner.
