Hello! I am Tomomi, a native Japanese speaker who live in Hiroshima, Japan with a husband, two kids and a dog. I like listening to music, reading, traveling, and watching Anime. I have traveled to several counturies. For domestic travel, I LOVE Onsen.
I lived in the U.S. (Omaha, Nebraska) for 5 years (2000-2006) and received a bachelor's degree.
I lived in China (吉林省長春市) for 3 years (2010-2012) and taught Japanese at a University.
Meeting new people and learning new culture are always enjoyable for me!지도 경험
I am a certified Japanese language teacher. I have total 14 years of teaching experience, and I love doing it. Through teaching, I can discover new aspects of my native language, and it is such a pleasure to share that discovery with students.
I also love the moment of "AHA! I got it!" in my students, so I try my best to make things simple, clear, and easy to understand :)
Since this is online, face-to-face lesson, I think it is important for you to speak Japanese as much as you can during the lesson. So I will make sure you will be the one who speaks most of the time.

Anyone from the beginner's level to the advanced (N2-N1) level are welcome.
I would like to make my lessons suitable to your aims and level as much as possible, so I will send you a message when you request the first lesson with me. Please reply me before the lesson so I can be prepared, thank you!
I mainly use textbooks Minna-no-nihongo or GENKI for the beginners. If you would like to use other textbooks, please feel free to ask.
I also can help you to prepare for JLPT tests (N5-N1).
Other things, such as reading articles, debates about some topics, learning new vocaburaries, or just free-talking are all good!

Tomomi Sensei is an AWESOME teacher! I've only recently started learning Japanese with the Genki textbooks, and her lessons have been an invaluable way for me to start speaking Japanese and concretizing the concepts from the book. She has a lot of resources to help facilitate her lessons, and is very flexible and tailors the lessons to my needs. She does a great job of having me speak as much Japanese as possible in our lessons, but her English is very good. This is helpful for me at this point so that I can ask clarifying questions in English, but I know that in the future we will decrease our English usage. Finally, her rate is the best bang for your buck. I highly recommend Tomomi Sensei!

Tomomi always delivers good energy and a positive attitude in our classes. Our conversation practice is so helpful in working my brain to pull up newly learned words and try to apply correct grammar. She doesn't make me feel bad about mistakes, but continues to guide improvement.
