Shirley / Phương

This is my third week with Shirley. We have built a good relationship. She has quickly understood my learning style and strengths and adapted our lesson pacing appropriately. She is careful to ensure that I progress through lessons with correct pronunciation. She is diligent in reviewing work and will record samples for students to practice with.

We had a very good lesson. Pacing was excellent. Shirley was happy to move through lessons if there weren't any issues, but took the time to repeat exercises and model pronunciation if needed. She was very helpful in correcting mistakes and explaining grammar structure and exceptions.

Shirley is consistent and provides great feedback and conversation help. She is diligent in providing useful corrections and is patient in allowing the student to figure out how to express oneself in their level of Mandarin.

The lesson started with a casual question/answer interaction, which helped check my ability to listen and respond. Shirley was able to use that as a starting point for the lesson. The pacing was slow, but Shirley was very careful in making sure I understood grammar. Most important was Shirley's ability to give feedback in Vietnamese and English, which perfectly matches my learning style. This combination makes her more unique and appealing to similar language backgrounds.
