I have my teaching degree from Norway and worked as a teacher in Norway after I graduated from college. I also worked several years in the USA as a teacher teaching grades 1-3. Since 2012 I have worked as a Norwegian teacher at Madison College in Madison Wisconsin. I also teach Norwegian for the US Air Force online and do Norwegian tutoring in person and online.

It is the most common preference of students to learn 50% theory (following text- and workbooks), and 50% speaking practice. First of all it is important to me to know your goals before we start. There are many reasons why someone would like to learn Norwegian, maybe you have relatives living in Norway today, or perhaps your ancestors emigrated from Norway a long time ago? It may also be that you are planning a vacation to Norway so see the wonderful nature and experience the culture of the Vikings! Quite a few people would like to learn Norwegian well in order to get a job in Norway! Based on your goals I will make an individual curriculum that focus on what you need to learn in order to master the Norwegian language at a level that you need to succeed.

Improve listening comprehension using cartoons! Beginners: Basic grammar. Focus on vocabulary and communication. NEW! I Norwegian in use. B1 - C2 : Topic-based learning. Improve vocabulary, grammar, comprehension and speaking using real and interesting resources like TV, articles etc. popular! CARTOON-lesson. Watch a cartoon and learn new words before the lesson. We'll discuss the storyline together in the lesson. Fun and effective! Conversation lesson: Practice conversation naturally. Read an article, talk about a picture, or maybe you have a request? Is it your first lesson? I highly recommend booking 30 minutes as your first lesson.

Norwegian Lessons for levels A1, A2 and B1-B2 | Norwegian Intensive courses I teach both individual lessons and intensive courses in Norwegian. You can book individual lessons anytime, while the next round of intensive courses starts in January/February. I do not have a single approach to teaching because all of my students are different. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced student, I will adapt my teaching style to your needs. During our first lesson I try to get to know you a little bit better and we decide on an approach together. I often use a textbook when I teach, combined with online exercises and quizzes, but I am flexible and willing to work with your learning style. I hope to see you in class!

Just taking lessons will make the road to mastering either Norwegian or English arduous.

Thomas - teaching 11 languages, currently learning 3 more When teaching I take both my schedule and my classes seriously. When a class is scheduled, it is part of my weekly plan and I get ready for it. I conduct a detailed journal of what I have been doing with my student, I write down every session, thus it is easy for me to check what we did on our past sessions. I used to teach more conventionally, meaning with my students being in the same room as me. In 2021 I started using Skype for my classes and things work out very well. I am always punctual as I respect the time my students take for our class, likewise I do appreciate if my students do the same.
