Trabajaba como animador en un hotel en Cerdeña, Italia, cuando una familia alemana me dijo que por qué no ayudaba a su hijo a complementar las clases que daba de español en la escuela. Empecé a informarme sobre cómo hacerlo y, teniendo contacto cada día con tantos extranjeros, empecé a resolver dudas sobre el español y a hacerme otras muchas. Empecé a formarme como profesor mientras enseñaba cosas sencillas. A día de hoy, ya tengo mi título de profesor ELE, varios cursos, masterclass, etc. y enseño español de forma profesional.

As mentioned, I believe having a native grasp in both English and Spanish is an advantage. It allows me to easily translate idiomatic concepts and expressions that don’t have literal equivalent from one language to the other. I can draw meaning from my native understanding of both languages (and my experience in using both in daily life) to find the right examples and the closest translations from the source to the target language. I studied linguistics and, even though it is generally not required for a language teacher to be trained in linguistics, there is a growing number of experts in the community who believe it's a huge plus. I've drawn countless knowledge from it to teach.
