Good afternoon, I would very much appreciate it if you could check my written paper describing my apprenticeship, which I did in a hotel, during my five-year of technical college. Thank you for your help.
My work placement took place in March this year. I did my internship at the Mercury Hotel in Kraków. My duties included organising the workstation of the floor service and hotel catering. I also prepared the accommodation units, kept the public areas clean and tidy, prepared the rooms for meetings, and used the equipment and aids for preparing and serving food and breakfast drinks. A positive aspect of the traineeship in this hotel was to see "the kitchen side" and "the floor service side" of the job. I had the opportunity to look at the work of different departments from reception, to floor service, to catering. This gave me an insight into what my work would be like in the future in this profession. On the negative side, I found that doing my apprenticeship in the hotel restaurant, the work was intense, without a moment's rest during the seven-hour workday. The floor service department, although with a heavier physical workload, gave me more freedom. The time pressure was less and I managed to finish my work earlier. I had the pleasure of meeting the very nice cleaning ladies as well as the inspector and manager. I am glad that I have gained new skills that I am sure will be useful in the future. Nevertheless, after this experience and 3 years of training as a hotelier, I have come to the conclusion that hospitality is not the career path I would like to follow.
