In 2017, I passed the Japanese Language Teaching Competency Test and became Japanese teacher. My first job is teaching Japanese for the beginner’s course in Tokyo, and then in Vietnam for 2 and a half years. Contents are business Japanese, how to pass the JLPT, pronunciation, and so on. The class of pronunciation was well-received for staff who work at Japanese hotels in Vietnam. I would like to be a teacher who continues to grow together with everyone, without being what I am doing now. 2017年、日本語教育能力検定試験に合格して日本語教師になりました。はじめは東京の日本語学校で初級のクラスを教えました。 その後、ベトナムで2年半、いろいろな人にいろいろな日本語を教えました。へビジネス日本語、JLPTの試験対策、発音・・。特に発音のレッスンは、日系のホテルで働く人たちから高い評価をいただきました。 今の自分に満足せずに、成長し続ける教師でありたいと思っています。

I have started teaching as a teaching assistant in Japanese classes when I was going to college. For the last 20 years, I've been helping new employees to get adjusted to their lives in Japan. Teaching basic Japanese was one of the support I was providing. I have helped my friends to pass JLPT. I have also supported foreign tourists as a volunteer guide in Tokyo, Osaka and Hiroshima. Therefore, I am confident that I can support beginner level students well. I love seeing their smiles when they were able to use the language that they learned with locals. To learn a new language should be a lot of fun, a source of joy and good time, however many people try and get frustrated. We all can learn as many languages as we want, but we should learn in natural way, like any child learns his mother tongue. As adults we frequently try to learn a new language in ways that are just not conductive. Dry repetition and memorization don’t help. A language is much more than words, a new language is like a new life. Japanese is a fascinating language of a fascinating country. I love to teach Japanese and about our food, our order and good manners, the anime and manga and many other fantastic oddities that exist only in Japan.
