Hello everyone I have a question What is the difference between "a variety of ..." and "varieties of ..."? Where should I use them each?

"a variety of" means there are different types of the same thing, or someone is speaking about ONE variety of bread/animal/spanish/etc. "varieties of" is plural, it means 2 or more types. Here are some examples in the order I explained them: "there are a variety of instruments sold in this music shop", "a/one variety of butterfly is the adonis blue", "there are many varieties of wood, with varying densities".
