I didn't know their names, so I did a little bit of searching. I realized that I use them when I speak, but I'm not quite sure if I'm using them correctly. Past continuous : Yesterday at night, while I was taking a shower the electricity went out. It's true😭 It was raining when I went to meet my sister at college. Past perfect continuous : I had been waiting for about half an hour when a car came and picked me up. I had been thinking of fixing my computer, when my brother came and offered to help. I did good, right? You did well you idiot, not good 😂

Let me explain you the difference between past perfect continuous and past continuous. It is quite easy. Let us take two examples one with past perfect and the other with past continuous. I had been teaching English for two years I was teaching English yesterday when you called me. Remember,we use both of these tenses to talk about something that we were doing or happening in the past. the first sentence explains that you were teaching a long period of time in the past ,but you stopped it after two years and now you don’t do it. The second sentence explains that you were teaching at one point in the past when something happened. Most hi-lighted is a long period of time and at one point. I hope this might help you to understand the difference.
