What is the difference, if any, between "welch" and "weasel out"? Thanks in advance.

"To welch" is specifically about refusing to pay if you lose a bet or a wager. "To weasel out" is a more general term. For example, if you agreed to help your friend move into a new apartment, but then decided you did not want to help him do all the heavy lifting. He might say, "Ah! My friend is trying to weasel out of helping me move!" Good luck!
