Hi,

As the title says, does anyone of you know a way to watch English or spanish tv shows that have both spanish spoken, but also the translation in spanish? Im not looking for the English translation of spanish but just the spanish script of what they were saying.

In case you know something id be very grateful! Thanks in advance

Most Spanish-spoken shows on Netflix have closed captions. Some even have descriptive audio, which is great for learners.

Go to your Netflix account and adjust your language preferences by selecting Spanish from the list of available languages, this way all shows will play in Spanish by default if the language is available for that particular show and you will also be able to turn on closed captions if this option is available.

I hesitate to recommend a paid resource because it will look like I am advertising, but you might investigate the site Yabla. It is for learning a few different languages. They have videos with two sets of subtitles, one in the target language and one in your original language. You can view both sets, turn one off, or turn both off. You can also scroll through the video with your keyboard or mouse. I don't know exactly what sort of content they have, but I think it is a range of things. Disclaimer: this is a paid site and I have never subscribed. They do have some free videos you can try as a sample.

I use a service called playon.tv and have a subscription to Netflix and a subscription to Hulu.   Hulu has Hulu Latina.  Like Netflix, it has even more content in spoken Spanish and Spanish captions are available for most all of it. (I pay a small monthy fee to get Hulu without commercials.  I believe Hulu Latino is availabe through playon.tv free with commercials.  Playon.tv does have an adskip feature that passes over most commercials, but it isn´t perfect.)

The nice thing about playon.tv is that I can have it ¨subscribe¨ to any series I want to watch and at night, while I sleep, playon.tv will stream and download the programs to my computer.  I can watch them whenever I want,  or take the files by USB on a device when I do not have internet access.

Playon.tv gives you access to many other free channels as well that have Spanish content, although I have not figured out the captions on all of them, like Telemundo or Yahoo View (which seems to be new, I just found it the other day and it has many Spanish programs on it.) I paid the onetime fee of 39.95  and think it was a great value, but they also have a monthly plan  for $2 if you want to try it.

Another option is buying DVDs of Spanish telenovelas, available on Amazon.com.  The ones like this with the red banner across the top that say ¨telenovelas populares¨ are in Spanish.  When you watch it you have the options for Spanish captions, English captions, or no captions.  They give you a lot of hours of Spanish for a fairly low price.  https://www.amazon.com/Amores-Verdaderos-Eduardo-Ya%C3%B1ez/dp/B00DNF1RSS/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1483365698&sr=8-4&keywords=telenovela

You can watch Cuéntame Cómo Pasó online with subtitles and transcription. Explore the RTVE website I'm sure there are other programs available with subtitles and transcription.

Thank you for the replies and the options you guys mentioned.

i was hoping there was a resource that allowed me to watch (the more common/famous) english tv shows or films with spanish spoken and spanish subtitles. Like for example harry potter or lord of the rings, breaking bad in spanish+spanish sub. As for spanish tv shows on netflix, I dont really have a clue which spanish tv show is good and also I dont have  anetflix account :P. Thanks for recommending me that though.

I have used yabla for French for 2 months but I found the content to be a bit boring there. In my opnion you have to be really motivated to stick with yabla, or at least that was my experience for french. The website is great and has awesome features, e.g. turning on captions on and off and allowing you to go back to the previous sentence with just a single click, but it displays some scenarios you wouldnt really encounter in real life, thus making the content less relevant for you and harder to recall. Maybe ill give it another shot if there's not a better option for watching movies/series with spoken and subtitles in spanish.
