Do you feel frustrated sometimes when you are learning a second language? Why? I feel quite uncomfortable when I begin studying  a new language. I feel stupid or like a child because there are so few things that I can say. I feel sometimes so frustrated that  I am tempted to give up. Why this happens?
From my point of view,  these feelings occurs because adults have a real need to communicate complicated thoughts in an effective manner, because we are impatient with the length of time it takes to learn and how to do this in another language.
Children seem to learn language easily. This is true perhaps because a child do not has complicated thoughts  and his comunication is only about the here and now.
Can you share your feelings about this issue with your italki partners?

I feel frustrated. Sometimes I think that I can not study english if I will study it in Russia, I can study just if i will live abroad. I think I must study more but I have not enough time. Please, indicate  mistakes in my message.

Feel frustrated? No! I enjoy learning new language. I am happy if I am able to undestand  the song: at first few words, then more and more. I am delighted to speak even some words, tomorrow will be more. I like the feeling: I undestand! And I have only a question: What language will be next?

learning a foreign is really a tough process indeed.i can totally understand it when you said you feel like a child and are temped to give up halfway every now and then. i have studied english for several years , but still i am not articulate when talking with people from english speaking countries,i often stammer while talking because  my head is blocked and words and phrases i've learnt just slip my mind.
I agree with you that children are best language learners, not only because they get no complaint thought to express, but also they would not feel ashamed of their flaws as we adults do!

I'm reading Alice in Wonderland.  I feel juvenial when I struggle with a kids story that isn't in my native language.  I feel just plain silly when, no matter how much I look it up, I can't grasp simple concepts.
