I am still learning, as always.  I agree with you that the first translation isn't that great.  It does not have the same flavour in the original in Chinese.  I had no choice.  I didn't like the sound of 釆花.  It sounds too much like in 採花 as in 採花賊!  Perhaps we can find some middle ground?  My Chinese isn't as good as yours to come up with a better word.

That which ends in exhaustion is death,but the perfect ending is in the endless.

But for the first one,I think translate the "<em>gather flowers </em>" to"集聚" is not so good.In Chinese,there is no expression of"集聚花朵"，In my opinion,the perfect translation is "采花".Because "采花" is a popular  leisure activitie for women in ancient times.It's more  images. Do you agree with me?<img title="Smile" src="http://www.italki.com/Scripts/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/img/smiley-smile.gif" alt="Smile" border="0" />
