Advanced English Cambridge exam practice :) Proposal for a series of unsual documentaries Introduction The main purpose of this proposal is to show some of the odd hobbies that my friends and I have, which could be shown in the new series of programmes that are going to be made in the near future for the national TV channel. My personal strange hobbies: All of us are unique, either for our thoughts, our preferences or our hobbies. I want to suggest a few of my weird hobbies, in order to be selected to the new programme that is going to be broadcast. Firstly, I should talk about being totally obsessed by Tango dancing. It is something that is typical from Argentina, but here in Spain is not common at all. I grew up with the sense of becoming a great tango dancer little by little, and I would be pleased to explain it in the programme. Another odd hobby that I have is about collecting fossils, which can sound strange, but it is funny though. My father taught me how to appreciate this and I am perfectly capable to explain how amazing it is if you could give me the opportunity to show that. My friends’ weird hobbies: Some of my friends have lots of strange hobbies too. Even if they don’t like the same things that normal people, they would be pleased to show the audience how fun these hobbies could be if given a little opportunity. The first one is about mushroom growing, which is important to them regarding the love that they feel for the nature. The second one is related with photography, which is not strange at all if we do not say that they spend their time photographing mushrooms and stuff like this. Conclusion: The channel is looking for odd hobbies that are practiced and lived by young people. The hobbies that I show in this proposal are weird enough to be selected, in my humble opinion. Giving us the option to show this to the audience will be worth it for the channel, and we will make sure that you will not be disappointed at all.

The channel is looking for odd hobbies that are practiced and lived by young people. The hobbies that I show in this proposal are weird (discrepo con lo que dijo Brad C, creo que "weird" se oye bien) enough to be selected, in my humble opinion. Giving us the option to show this to the audience will be worth it for the channel, and we will make sure that you will not be disappointed at all ("at all" suena bien, tal como lo diría un nativo).

Introduction

The main purpose of this proposal is to review some of the odd hobbies that my friends and I have, which could be shown in the new series of programmes that are going to be made in the near future for the national TV channel. [Not the only verb you could use, but it isn't good to use two forms of "show in the same sentence]

My personal strange hobbies:

All of us are unique, either for our thoughts, our preferences or our hobbies. I want to suggest a few of my weird hobbies, in order to be selected for the new programme that is going to be broadcast. [Redundant] Firstly, I should talk about being totally obsessed by Tango dancing. It is something that is typical of Argentina, but here in Spain it is not common at all. I grew up with the sense of becoming a great tango dancer little by little, and I would be pleased to explain it in the programme. Another odd hobby that I have is about collecting fossils, which can sound strange, but it is also funny though. My father taught me how to appreciate this, and I am quite capable of explaining how amazing it is if you could give me that opportunity to show that.

Even if they don’t like the same things that people normally find interesting, they would be pleased to show the audience how fun these hobbies could be if given a chance. The first one is about mushroom growing, which is important to them because of the love that they feel for the nature. The second one is related to photography, which is not strange at all as long as they don't spend their time photographing mushrooms!

Conclusion:

The channel is looking for odd hobbies that are practiced and enjoyed by young people. The hobbies that I show in this proposal are curious enough to be selected, in my humble opinion. Giving us the option to show this to the audience will be worth it for the channel, and we will make sure that you will not be disappointed in the least.
