“What a wonderful world” is a song written by Bob Thiele and performed and first recorded by Louis Amstrong in 1967. Some of its verses say:
“I see friends shaking hands
Saying how do you do
They’re really saying
I love you”
I like the song. In fact I think is a delightful one, though It’s not one of my favourites songs of all times, if you know what I mean, but anybody can recognise in its lyrics the celebration of the beautiful things of the world. But in reference with these particular verses I wonder whether Thiele, when wrote them, was tripping out or he honestly thought that people have that in mind.
