It's actually impossible to tell. She probably means on the internet, so it's odd that she says off.

Seems to be some differences of understanding Between English (British speakers) and American Speakers. To me a British Speaker they clearly dated off = via the internet and they clearly broke up off the internet = public via the internet -> via a social media platform, it was made public off (via) the internet either by one of the dating couple /both of them or possibly via the internet from (via) -> the media if they were a famous celebrity couple. Yes you are correct "off the internet" = via the internet. I interpret the audio same as you even though the Speaker is possible American.

Without more context, it’s hard to tell but ‘getting something off the internet’ usually means ‘getting something from the internet’., I.e. I’m receiving something - the word doesn’t suggest a mutual exchange That’s an odd way to speak of dating, but maybe that’s the idea being expressed (that it wasn’t real dating)
