QQ is this really popular communication messenger(like MSN, or AIM) used in China. If you sign up for QQ you also have a Qzone page(which is very similar to facebook) you can play games, listen to music. upload pictures, and share updates with your friends. its really cool (I have one in English ^^) There's an English and Chinese version.

QQ is a chat tool on web which is like msn and you may download it from www.qq.com, but no English edition.

You can also use it for VoIP communications like Skype. If who you are talking to is in China then it is easier for both of you to use QQ. There is an English version if you google it.
