How can I use "fit" in sentences? Hello. How can I use "fit" in sentences? Is this sentence right: I am not sure if the research environment would fit me before I go to the lab.

I would suggest that you use the word "suit" instead. In this instance it means "be right or good for you"

"Fit" works here. Fit is used for clothes or anything that goes around your person. Then from that meaning it can be used for any situation that "fits" you like a good clothes might fit you. Some of the tenses above are wrong and the sentence a little confusing. "I am not sure if the research environment will fit me. I would like to know before I go to the lab." OR I have been offered a job at a lab, but I am not sure the research environment will fit me. With the phrase "before I go to the lab" that means you are going to the lab for sure. So whether the environment fits you or not seems to have no value in this sentence since you are going to the lab anyway. Hope this makes sense.
