What's the meaning and use of these structures? ~ㄹ 참이다 ~려던 참이다 (I saw that 려던 참이다 and 려던 참이었다 both are translated as "one was about to do sth/was on the verge of doing something"; shouldn't there be a difference between using past tense and present tense?) ~ㄹ 테다 ~ㄹ 텐데 ~ㄹ 테니까 ~ㄹ 테면 ~ㄹ 테죠 (if we use 테다 the action we are talking about is more likely to happen than with 것, right? ~ㄹ 테다 > ㄹ 것이다?) ~(는) 관계로 ~ Noun + 끝 ~ㄴ/던 끝에 ~는 날에는 ~는 마당에 ~는 법이다 ~는 법이 없다/있다 ~ㄹ 법하다

1. ~ㄹ 참이다 = I'm about/set to (do something). 지금 나갈 참이야. 2. ~려던 참이다/참이었다 = I was just about to (do something). 지금 나가려던 참이야/참이었어. (1) shows one's intention, while (2) shows the speaker already had the intention and was about to do it. -려던 참이다 and -려던 참이었다 are different in form but they're practically the same. -던 in -려던 clearly indicates a (very recent) past like "just now", so 참이다 and 창이었다 are practically the same here. * ~ㄹ 테다 = 1. It is expected/likely that ... 누가 뭐라면 이렇게 말할 터이다, 2. I intend to ... 꼭 이길 테다. * ~ㄹ 텐데 = It would be ...; It would have been ... (a wish, like in a subjunctive). 약을 드시면 좋을 텐데. * ~ㄹ 테니까 = As/Since ... (a reason or circumstances). 이 일은 내가 해결할 테니까 걱정 마. * ~ㄹ 테면 = If ... / Assuming ... (condition) 할 테면 마음대로 해 봐 = 하고 싶으면 마음대로 해 봐. * ~ㄹ 테죠 = It is likely that ... (prediction) 그렇게 말하면 싫다고 할 테죠 =그렇게 말하면 싫다고 하겠죠. -ㄹ 것이다 just indicates something is likely to happen. -ㄹ 터이다 suggests something is a circumstance/outcome(터) logically expected or morally justified. It implies a conviction that something is bound to be that way in due course,. So we can say -ㄹ 터이다 is stronger than -ㄹ 것이다 in predicting something, but their meanings are different too. * ~(는) 관계로 = given that ...; because ... 시간이 없는 관계로 = 시간이 없기 때문에. * ~ Noun + 끝 = Noun(을) 한/하던 끝(에). 고민 끝에 = 고민(을) 한 끝에. 세 번의 >실패 끝에 = 세 번 실패한 끝에. * ~ㄴ/던 끝에 = -던 끝에 suggests it was done repeatedly/longer. 고민을 하던 끝>에 implies a longer period. * ~는 날에는 = if the day comes when (something bad happens) = if something happens. 아버지가 아시는 날에는 큰일난다. * ~는 마당에 = given (a more important situation). When (something important) is happening. 이리 된 마당에 어쩌겠어? * ~는 법이다 = It's a rule that ...; It's bound to be in a certain way. 군인은 용감해야 하는 법이다. (법 = 이치) * ~는 법이 없다 = is known not to have ...; is quite unlikely to ... 그 친구는 >학교에 늦는 법이 없다. (법 = 습성) * ~는 법이 있다 = (this is not used) * ~ㄹ 법하다 = It is quite likely that ...; it might very well ... 친구의 사업>은 잘될 법하디. (법 = 가능성, 개연성)
