What is the difference between circumvent and overcome?

Sometimes you can find answers only by looking for synonyms. When learning a language, avoid your mother language as much as possible. circumvent: avoid, prevent, avert, escape, bypass. overcome: surpass, pass, get over, break, conquer. As you can see, circumvet is about avoiding a situation, escaping from it. Overcome, on the other hand, is about dealing with it and solving the problem, or getting over a situation. Tell me wether it's clear. I can provide some examples :)

'Circumvent' means to go around, and avoid, an obstacle, or issue. He circumnavigated the globe" (He went around the world|. 'Overcome' means to face an obstacle or an issue face on, and be successful.. "He overcame his disability, and won the race".

Circumvent means to find a way around something. i.e To circumvent the security system.... Overcome means to persist at something and succeed or triumph. They can be used interchangably in some circumstances, depending on the context.
