Can 'whose' be used with objects? Is 'whose' used only for people? Can it be used with objects as well? For example: 'pick the ones whose solution...', like in the following example: 'First things first, we should asses our tasks' urgency and the way they intertwine with our purpose. Only after everything is cleared up, will we be able to pick the one whose solution will trigger the answers to the rest of our tasks.'

In this case it could work, because it could be referring, obliquely, to the person who suggested the solution. Strictly speaking, it is not correct, but the sentence itself is not grammatically correct, anyway. It should read: ...we will be able to pick the solution which will trigger.... However, although grammatically incorrect, the meaning is clear, and that is probably the most important thing.

It can, though it is a bit controversial. See this for a more extensive review https://www.quickanddirtytips.com/education/grammar/whose-for-inanimate-objects
