life‘ woes and life's problems. What‘s the difference between them? I hardly see this word woe in a writing sample. I don't know why. Is there something to do with American English and British English?

At least in American English, woe is a more uncommon word and tends to be more melodramatic. Otherwise, these two phrases don't have any distinction in my mind - life's woes might sound a bit more poetic or dramatic, but still conveys the same meaning.
