help me to understand a dialogue It's from the movie Heat (1995) Two gangsters talking on the phone. - Where are you? - There's cops all over me, man. They're on me like a cheap suit. I can't dump them. - After the fact you spotted them? - No, no. They're doing parallels. I can try to dump them again. - How are we gonna know if you did? If you didn't, you'll draw them to us. I can't understand the part "after the fact" and "they are doing parallels". They don't make sense to me.

I think the part where one charecter says 'I can try to dump them again' rerfers to him trying to escape the police undetected. His friends response shows concern that if he is not able to escape them undetected, the police would follow the friend to where the man showing concern is.

"After the fact" just means "after" in this instance. "Doing parallels" is tough to understand even for me, and I saw this movie in 1995. Lots of slang here...but I think it means they're following him, running parallel to him.
