The only English idiom I can think of is "... five-finger discount." A "discount" is a reduction in the price of some item, as in: "All shoes are on sale at a 20% discount." And so, a "five-finger discount" is how a shoplifter describes how much he paid for an item -- zero. That is, he concealed it and left the store without paying. When asked by friends how much he paid, he just replies, "Five-finger discount."
