Dry humour can be dark or not, there's no inherent connection. "Dark humour" describes the content while "dry humour" describes the presentation.

I think dry humour is a style which does not set itself up for huge belly laughs, and does not 'flag' the fact you are telling a joke. It becomes hilarious because while it sounds like regular, even boring conversation, it relies on the listeners' own intelligence to make the comical and witty connections. So... some people do not get it. Get stuck into some Oscar Wilde. :)

I always thought it take a high level of intelligence to have a dry sense of humor - and maybe that's why some people don't appreciate that kind of humor (they don't understand the innuendos used.). But I love that kind of humor.
