Cowboy is correct. Here are some other examples. expunge= to remove something completely, especially from a written record . Example: The policeman said that he would expunge the incorrect speeding fine from the driver's records. expurgate= to remove from a book or text Example: Some sections of the novel Lady Chatterly's Lover were expurgated from DH Lawrence's manuscript. If you write something that your editors don't like it may be expurgated from the transcript.
