Yoshi Shimizu

I took lessons with Yoshi-san for about 4 yrs now. He has a way to explain things very clear & easy to understand. 🙏

Shimizu-san is exactly what I need. I lived in Japan for twenty years but didn’t have opportunities to speak it once I returned to the US in 2005. We talk about a wide variety of things which has helped my recall and has improved my fluency.

The lessons are great for improving my comprehension. He does a great job walking through sentences and making sure I understand.

Yoshi is a great teacher for those focused on conversational Japanese. If you know a lot of Japanese words but are unable to articulate full sentences, he will help you round out the fundamentals and then help you get to your goal. I would consider his English to be native so that is very helpful.

I haven't been practising Japanese lately, and I was struggling to initiate our conversation today, but luckily Yoshi teacher was leading the flow in a very encouraging and thoughtful manner.
