I am a qualified TEFL teacher and native English speaker with over 11 years of experience teaching and tutoring in-person and online. this includes classroom teaching (children 3-11), group teaching, and 1 on 1 tutoring. I have taught English, mathematics, science, chess, economics, and writing. I have lived in four different countries and I'm an expert at communicating with people from different cultures who speak different languages.

I think that teaching should be fun, exciting, and engaging but also demanding rigorous, and with super-high expectations. I have endless time for excellent students and would hate to think that anyone left my classes without being an excellent user of English. My elementary school students could all speak English fluently, write coherent stories and essays in English and understand grammar terms and patterns. I like to include games and activities in my classes as well as general conversations, grammar, and writing. I speak at a normal pace and you'll get used to it and be able to communicate in real life. I write materials and apps for students when they need them. I use online quizzes, worksheets, videos, and games. I even made my own YouTube channel when students needed it during lockdown (https://youtu.be/pfBJSYublx8).

Matt was very well-prepared for this lesson, and I found him really interesting. There were just a few parts where I understood the content but wasn’t sure how to respond. I really like Matt—he makes me feel that this is how communication between guys should be: humorous and fun.

Matt is so kind and patient.His classes are always full of fun.Games,songs,and humorous discourse…he’s like a big boy ,a good friend.My son loves him so much.and Matt will show his gentle side when my son meets some difficulties and lack of confidence. The class is very professional. I have taught here many times from italki other teacher, but I have never seen a teacher who is professional and good at handling children like Mr.Matt.
