Had a pleasant first Taiwanese Hokkien lesson and enjoyed the language as well as the teacher.

I'm mightily impressed by Kai's flexibility, his professionalism, the breadth of his knowledge of linguistics and literature, and the encouraging manner of his pedagogy. I'm about to sign up for a further series of lessons.

Kai is a such a professional. He attentively listens to me and gives constructive feedback. He is also able to turn whatever topic that we talk about into a learning opportunity.

There are not that many Taiwanese teachers who understand the needs of non-heritage speakers of the language. So I'm really happy to have stumbled across Kai. In a single, short trial lesson, I spoke more Taiwanese, in more complete sentences, than I have ever done before, and this has been a huge confidence boost. I'm looking forward to studying with Kai more.
