Hello! My name is Abe. I’m passionate about cooking, reading, watching movies, and learning new languages. I hold a TEFL certificate in English and have a degree in Psychology. While I currently live in the Philippines, I grew up in Saudi Arabia. I’m a native speaker of both English and Filipino, and I also know a bit of Arabic. Having lived in a city with a rich cultural diversity, I’ve come to appreciate how learning a language is deeply intertwined with its cultural context. I used to teach English at my university, where I worked with foreign exchange students and also had language exchange partners. After that, I decided to pursue my passion for teaching. Along the way, I realized that teaching is a two-way street—you learn just as much from your students as they do from you. I find it incredibly fulfilling to watch my students succeed through their own efforts. I also take great pleasure in breaking down complex ideas in a way that makes them easier to understand. I like to take things slow at the beginning to assess the student’s level and identify any areas of difficulty through basic conversation. From there, I address the initial concerns and tailor the tutoring to fit the student’s specific needs. I make sure to find out if the student wants to focus on improving pronunciation, practicing conversation, or something else. I believe in being patient and not overly pushy, as open communication with the student is key. Currently, I teach conversation practice, pronunciation correction, and interview preparation. My lessons are conducted in English, so I expect students to have an understanding of the language.Mijn lesmateriaal

I had a productive and enjoyable lesson, sharpening my English skills with the guidance of Mr. Abdullah. Despite not being a morning person, the class was engaging and fun, which kept me energized throughout. Since I often speak French and travel to countries where English isn’t the primary language, my thought process in English has slowed down, even though it’s my first language. These sessions have been incredibly helpful in maintaining and improving my fluency.
