Hello. I am Shanti and I've been a teacher of 3 languages for over 15 years - English, Indonesian and German. At the moment, I concentrate on teaching Bahasa Indonesia. If you are a native speaker of English & German, we would get along well linguistically :D
I currently live in Bali and I love the diversity of cultures from people around the world here and its nature. Besides that, traveling to other countries, and exploring their authentic cuisine have been my passion as well. It's always exciting to experience a new culture, new languages and a new mindset. As a teacher, I want to make my class feels more casual and interactive. On the other hand, I am also structural in terms of lessons' objectives. It is important for me to help you make sense of the language. As a matter of fact, Bahasa Indonesia is a simple language, practical but very relaxed. I have been entrusted by many expats in Bali. So, my focus is to help them able to converse with locals in variety of real-life situations. But again, I am mostly flexible with students' needs. I can provide both formal and informal use of the language. All skills: writing, reading, grammar, speaking, and listening can be provided.Mijn lessen en manier van lesgeven
I will use a simple, neat and well-structured material that suits students' level of Indonesian skills. For beginner lessons, we aim to make you get used to our language's structure by exposing you to our most basic situational phrases in daily conversations first - in the form of dialogues, simple exercises that allow you to learn & repeat the new phrases without getting bored of them. Then intro of grammar is delivered bit by bit.
Once your passive skill is well formed, we move on to the next step, which is to work on your active skill. There'll be more practice both in class and as homework that will enforce your skill to finally be able to speak the language with full confidence.Mijn lesmateriaal

Susanti is a wonderful teacher. Her lessons are well put together, and effective at teaching vocabulary, pronunciation, and grammar. She is very good at including information on the Indonesian culture, and she is fluent in English and other languages. As an attorney in the United States who wanted to learn Indonesian to converse with friends, Susanti's class is exactly what I was looking for.

Susanti is by far the most organized and professional language Teacher I have met! Her lessons are always incredible well structured and at the appropriate difficulty level for me to progress.
I have struggled before with Indonesian in daily life having studied mainly from formal texts.
Susanti's course material is mainly informal language, real spoken Indonesian (bahasa gaul) which has enabled me to start sounding more natural and have a higher level of comprehension in everyday situations.
I look forward to many more lessons in the future!
