Jennifer

Jennifer is best teacher I've had across all metrics, be it sharpness, effectiveness, communication skills and style, enthusiasm, you name it. I could laundry-list all the qualities but my vocabulary is not sufficient. My POV is that of a moderately serious student who likes a mix of structure and spontaneous tangents. I doubt Jennifer would have trouble with any particular student profile, as long as your interest in learning is there.

Wonderful teacher and mentor in the language learning process. Her support is an assets to any language learner who is taking a earnest approach to studying English or Mandarin. She has the intercultural awareness necessary to teach students from western countries. An assets you don't find in many native speaking Mandarin instructors.

Taking Jennifer’s class was an absolute delight. After our introductions and a discussion about the learning journey, Jennifer quickly assessed my beginner’s level and tailored the practice accordingly. Her multilingual skills, especially in French, were invaluable in helping me grasp and remember grammatical rules and sentence structures. I have had dozens of lessons with Jen and have become much more confident in speaking with Mandarin-speaking people ... sometimes surprising myself. I have had other language teachers and have found Jen to be the best. If you’re learning Mandarin the book some lessons with Jen.

It is clear that Jennifer is a professional teacher and is capable of teaching to a variety of levels. She was able to switch between complicated topics and easy topics as well as break down any grammar structure in an easy to understand way. She was friendly and jumping into conversation with her was effortless. She has a very natural and organic way of leading the class that makes the entire learning experience easy going but incredibly valuable.
