I am a native Japanese speaker.
I was born and raised in Yamagata Prefecture, Japan.
Yamagata is the largest ramen consuming area in Japan and I grew up eating a lot of ramen since I was a little girl! 🍜I especially love Tonkotsu Ramen. Do you have a favorite ramen?
My hobbies are eating delicious food, watching anime and movies, traveling, and sports! One Piece, Haikyuu, etc

I am a freelance Japanese teacher who strives to ensure that all students goals are met. I have a very friendly personality and am very flexible when it comes to scheduling classes. When I was first learning English, it was very difficult and at times I didn't feel very confident with my skills. However, I overcame the hurdles of learning a foreign language and now I feel confident in my abilities. Because of this, I feel that I would be a perfect teacher for you to learn Japanese since I know how difficult this type of lesson can be. I'll guide and correct your Japanese as we go and ensure that you are fully comfortable with your speaking skills. My objective is to help you successfully reach your goals and feel confident when speaking Japanese. I strive to create a safe learning environment free of any judgement and highly encourage you to ask questions at any time whenever you do not understand something.

I have been practicing with Kana for 2 weeks now and it has been the best thing for my learning journey. In 2 weeks she has given me the confidence to start using Japanese everyday. Her lessons help me with real life situations and I get to learn vocab and grammar that relate to the things I’m really interested in. She’s a great teacher and so friendly!

Kana is a fantastic person and a kind soul! I enjoy every minute speaking with her. I can see noticeable improvements in my ability to hold conversations in Japanese. There are a lot of Japanese teachers and tutors out there, but you need to book with Kana. She's a great teacher and has become a wonderful friend.
