Welcome to my ItalkI profile! My name is Ferry. I'm a Dutch national, living in Malaysia with my Malaysian spouse. I'm a computer scientist by profession and my career spans 25 years in a variety of training, education and IT roles in three countries! In 2017 I moved from The Netherlands to teach in China and in 2021 I came to Malaysia where I met the love of my life. I'm an avid world traveler, love snorkeling, exotic islands, old temples, biking and fitness, astronomy, astrophysics and philosophy! I'm certified teacher and training professional in the field of computer science, mathematics and AI. Now you might think, hold on, but I'm here to learn Dutch?! Well, as a native speaker of Dutch and my background in education and corporate training I know how to be patient and utilize proven teaching techniques (reinforcement, repetition, transfer, context) to give you the best learning experience. Of course I'm not a professional language teacher, so my teaching methods will be informal. Conversation, basic grammar, sentence structure and expanding your Dutch vocabulary! We pick a topic interest or a scenario in daily life and we just talk informally. I'll help you understand new vocabulary, sentence structure and other difficulties you might encounter in a calm and friendly way.
