Mel✨

My friend Danny and I have been taking lessons with Mel-san for a over year now. She is an amazing teacher!!!!! She is always incredibly patient and kind no matter how many mistakes we make. Whenever our studies falter when life gets busy, she is always so understanding and willing to work at any pace. Mel-san will also teach native Japanese grammar or phrases that the textbooks can be outdated on. She is good at creating a fun, but productive environment for learning. We've loved classes with Mel-san!!!!

Mel 先生 is a really patient and wonderful teacher. Her emphasis on conversational skills has been tremendously helpful in training my brain to become more comfortable and better at using what I’ve learned. Her pacing is also great; I never feel rushed to move past points that I haven’t quite grasped yet. Thank you for another great lesson!

I have been learning with Mel for about a year now and would have to say one of the best teachers around! She modifies her teaching style around you, makes sure to check that you actually understand a grammar point properly and is super friendly too. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her.

My lessons with Mel-sensei are always fun and engaging! Practicing speaking with her always feels possible with just the right amount of challenge to feel encouraged to keep going! Even if you're just starting out, every time I speak with Mel-sensei, I feel like I become more fluent. She always uses vocabulary that's familliar to me, and introduces new vocabulary in our conversation as it appears in the textbook. Reviewing grammar also feels effective with Mel-sensei, she will not only ask me to come up with my own sentences, but will also give me ideas/vocab to use in my sentence when she sees I'm struggling to come up with something. This keeps the momentum going, which lets us get more practice in a single session and never get the feeling that I'm stuck. Looking forward to the lessons to come! ありがとうございます！
