Lia

I've had a few classes with Lia and am extremely impressed by her skills as a teacher. She is very friendly, adaptable to your level, and make lessons thoroughly enjoyable. I plan on continuing our lessons well into the future.

I have completed 20+ lessons with Teacher Lia and I can advise anyone who is looking for well structured, fun and insightful Chinese classes to give Teacher Lia a try. I am getting a deeper understanding of what I’m learning which is priceless.

Lia is an amazing teacher. My daughter (12) has been learning with her, a couple of times a week, for about two years and she has made wonderful progress. Until now, she had been focussed on speaking but not she is also working on her reading and writing.

I really appreciate how Lia Laoshi encourages me to speak more during our lessons, even though I find it challenging to memorize or familiarize myself with Hanzi. I’m very embarrassed that I can’t memorize fast because I’ve been busy this month with work, but Laoshi has been very patient and provides the best advice and techniques to help me improve. The list of radicals she gave me has been incredibly helpful for my review and understanding. I also like how having lessons 3-4 times a week helps me stay disciplined with my Mandarin studies. Her dedication and effort are truly commendable!

I just had my 7th or 8th lesson with Lia Laoshi, and I’m genuinely impressed by her dedication and patience. She consistently puts in so much effort to help me improve my conversational skills, even when I struggle to find the right words. Her structured approach and encouragement make each lesson productive and enjoyable. I appreciate how she pushes me out of my comfort zone while still making me feel supported. This is my 6th time studying with Lia Laoshi, and I can already feel significant improvement. Before this, I had been self-studying Mandarin for 3 months and thought I was doing well, but enrolling with Lia Laoshi made me realize how much more I needed to improve, especially in speaking and conversation. Thanks to her guidance, I’ve started recognizing more vocabulary during conversations and feel a bit more confident when speaking, even if I’m still a bit slow. I’m excited to keep learning and improving under her teaching!
