I am a French & History graduate with an interest in language learning and cultural exchanges. I have some experience of English teaching and of sports coaching (tennis), working with both adults and children. My main hobbies include sport (particularly tennis), cinema, music, contemporary history and animals & the environment. I have been working as a community teacher on Italki for around 18 months and plan to take a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) qualification soon. I enjoy online teaching although I am interested in working abroad as a TEFL teacher and gaining more classroom experience. The opportunity to spend time in a foreign country to learn about a new
culture and possibly a new language is appealing to me. I think culture forms an important part of language learning and I enjoy discussing these areas with students.Mijn lessen en manier van lesgeven
My teaching style is quite relaxed and I do not necessarily plan lessons unless a student wants to work on something specific. The emphasis is mostly on speaking practice and for students to express themselves on a wide variety of topics. In doing so, they should learn more about the English language and hopefully the Anglophone world. I also enjoy looking at the written work of students and enjoy these lessons when they crop up. Sometimes I use resources such as audio recordings and online articles to keep lessons stimulating or if a student so wishes . I send corrections and language tips via the chat on each platform and can point students in the direction of further resources.Mijn lesmateriaal
