Hi there, this is Jovan! I am a linguist who enjoys teaching, who likes to travel, and who has a passion for politics, history, literature, architecture, and technology. I enjoy following and keeping up with global news and my hobbies are reading books and watching series and movies!
I am able to work with any student out there, be that a beginner or someone who needs to improve a specific area of knowledge, regarding the Macedonian language.

I have been teaching on Italki since September 2017, and in June 2019 I completed my studies, and I obtained a bachelor's degree in English language and literature.
Three years ago, I began studying the Russian language and literature at the state university in Skopje - UKIM, and at the moment I'm in my last year of these studies.
My field of studies is directed toward teaching, and my education consists of courses where we were taught how to teach, what methods to use, and which approaches to take in specific situations. I believe that all of this will allow me to help you with any problem that you may face during our lessons.Mijn lessen en manier van lesgeven
I am very adaptable to the rhythm of learning, and I'm open to all the suggestions by the student on how we should conduct the lessons.
We can follow a teach-book that has already some 20 lessons and exercises (a scanned version of the lessons will be provided before the course takes place).
I believe that learning should be fun, and I can also provide 24/7 support for anything out there and where I can. Until today I've met several of my students, and even if you don't follow any lesson with me, feel free to contact me if you find yourself in Skopje, I'm always up for coffee and a good chat!

Russian language for foreigners (RKI) - Russkiy Mir Foundation at UKIM - 2022The seminar was organized by the Russian cultural center part of the University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius in Skopje, North Macedonia. It was led by the linguist Yulia Aleksandrovna Mareeva, which is known for her work in the field of teaching Russian as a foreign language. This seminar allowed me to gain knowledge of the main differences and problems that Russophones face while learning Macedonian and vice versa, and how to avoid them while teaching the two languages.

Bachelor’s - English Language and LiteratureMy Bachelor's Degree consists of a three year study at the University of Rouen, Normandy. The studies were comprised of courses where we were thought both grammar and writing, translation, civilization (history) of English-speaking countries and above all a big accent fell on literature. A big help were also the conversation-comprehension classes where we spend hours talking and discussing on wide topics such as books, movies and articles, which helped us to further improve our skills.

AssistantThe first Winter School of the International Seminar of the Macedonian Language, Literature, and Culture at UKIM, began on the 25th of January and ended on the 5th of February. This year the institution marked 100 years since the birth of one of the most important linguists, historians, and a figure who took part in the codification of the Macedonian language - Blaze Koneski. At the invitation of Professor and Lector Roza Tasevska, I took part in the organization and translation of texts.

Learning Macedonian with Jovan, through reading about Macedonian culture, watching videos in Macedonian language, learning vocabulary from the scripts and the amount of speaking we do, really contribute on my improvement of the language.

He is amazing! My son could read cyrillic words by the end of the first class!!! Incredibly engaging format, he is very knowledgable about the language, its roots and why things are the way they are. Which makes it very interesting and motivating to continue. My son loved the class, which is saying a lot for a 10 year old boy, who struggles to sit still ! Thank you Jovan.
