Karen Shi

Karen is very bubbly and fun to learn with. I highly recommend learning with her. She makes lessons engaging, and uses a good mix of mandarin and English that strikes a good balance in the learning process to help learners understand spoken Mandarin alongside conceptual aspects of the language. She uses high-quality sets of slides, resources and tools in her lessons and is thorough in her approach. She will also follow up and provide resources (quizzes, notes and so on and so forth) to help you learn outside of the lessons, which I find particularly helpful to reinforce the learning outcomes from her lessons, and I am certain others will as well.

I enjoyed the session with Karen a lot!! She is very nice and friendly, speaks very clearly, and her tones are also very understandable. She adapted her speaking pace so that I could understand everything she said. As we spoke, Karen gave me feedback and corrected my tones and words of choice, and after the class, she sent me a pdf file with the words and sentences I didn't know. The conversation flowed smoothly and time flew by! I think Karen is going to be of great help to my Chinese. Looking forward to the next session!!
