Hola, ¿qué tal? Soy Matías👋. I'm a writer, blogger, podcaster, musician, and language geek. Born and raised in Buenos Aires, I've been living in a small town in the province of Córdoba for the last two years. Whether you've already started exploring the Spanish jungle or you're considering paying it a visit, I'm here to help you understand and appreciate Spanish language in its natural habitat. I'll be your (sort of spiritual) guide into the apparent chaos. My intention is to show you that behind the seeming chaos, everything makes sense. I've been a full-time language tutor since 2014. Throughout my teaching journey, I've had the opportunity to introduce elementary students to Spanish and guide them through. I've coached intermediate students to achieve fluency and improve their pronunciation. I've also helped students with academic papers and prepared candidates for exams and interviews. I'm committed to helping you stay motivated and on track. My intent is to create a warm, immersive learning environment to keep you in 'language learning mood'. I aim to build a long-term cooperative relationship with you, so that we can work together to achieve your language learning goals.

I believe in having a relaxed and open tutor-student relationship. I don't want to be seen as the one who knows everything and is always right, which is why I steer clear of the masterclass format. Instead, I strive to provide clear explanations and guidance while encouraging you to get involved and really understand and use the language. I particularly enjoy onboarding beginner students and activating their language learning superpowers to speak Spanish fluently and confidently as soon as possible. I'm always searching for useful resources to make the learning process both efficient and enjoyable. So, give it a try! Let's do this together!

Neuroscience applied to teaching - Asociación Educar para el Desarrollo Humano - 2018During 2017 and the first part of 2018 I completed a training course on Neuropsychoeducation, that is, Neuroscience applied to learning. It was an eye opening insight into how we react to new experiences and how we process information. Ever since then, I've applied the knowledge acquired to my language teaching.

Bachelor’s - LawyerUniversity of Buenos AiresI graduated as a lawyer from University of Buenos Aires, one of the country's most prestigious public universities, in 2011. Upon graduation I worked as an attorney for some years but I'm currently not doing any law-related work, except those involving language teaching. I have regular classes and courses with foreign law students or people related to the 'legal world'.

English TeacherAnglo School - Buenos Aires, ArgentiniëFormerly a student in my school days, until I moved in to Córdoba I was an English teacher here. I used to have regular courses of students aged 9-18 and I'd tutor the older ones to sit for FCE exams. I also teach adults, tailoring my classes to fit their needs. I have a great time switching to my "English self" for a few hour every day. Since we've moved to Córdoba, my courses have stayed virtual.

2014 - 2022

Spanish TeacherAnglo School - Buenos Aires, ArgentiniëI decided I wanted to teach Spanish after living for 6 months in Brazil. While living there I had the chance to teach Spanish to hotel staff and felt it was exactly what I wanted to do wherever I was. Once I was properly trained, we included Spanish as a Foreign Language as part of the course offers. We've had students coming to study, but most of all, over the Internet, and well before the pandemic hit!

Matias is so knowledgeable and interested in so many topics that we have really interesting conversations while he keeps a lookout for where I can improve my vocabulary and grammar. He creates a seamless learning environment that always produces improvement. Really excellent teacher.
