My name is Serin and I'm 28 years old. I was born and raised in Seoul, Korea and now, I'm living and studying in Frankfurt, Germany. I majored in Economics and History in my bachelor's. I travel a lot and that's where I get all my motivation as a language learner. I taught myself English in my own country. I love teaching English and Korean using different types of tools such as news articles, YouTube videos or TED talks and that's basically how I learned English from scratch. And traveling has been a good source of learning languages to me personally as lots of people I met while traveling helped me a lot practice speaking in English.Ik als leerkracht
I do love teaching my students. I've been teaching English and Korean for the lats 2 years and it has been an awesome journey. One of the best aspects of myself as a teacher is that I do understand why my students struggle when it comes to learning languages that are not their mother tongues. You may lack confidence and positive mindset in you as you think you're not smart enough to master the language you're working on. But language should be your habit, not something you should be stressed out with. I normally use news articles. Most of the class material I use are from BBC. By reading articles out loud, you can broaden your words skill and understand the basic structure of how native English speakers use the language in their real life. Also, by reading it, we can find some errors of your pronunciation and correct them. One of the other sources I usually utilize is TED talks. TED has an enormously extensive topics to cover and it's helpful in terms of every single part of English such as listening, speaking, pronunciation, vocabulary etc. In my class, we're gonna use these sources and my purpose is simple : not to be frustrated or bored. Serin is very friendly and makes you feel at ease straight away. She slowly eases you into the conversation with encouragement and helpfulness. 10/10 would recommend

If learning a new language's like a thunderstorm, then Serin is THE BOLT ⚡ : she hits you with instant grammar, jolts you with on point commentary and doesn't let go until smoke comes out of your nose and you hear yourself scream EUREKA !

Serin is the most accommodating teacher I have EVER had! She is willing to take any suggestions- no matter how long, no matter how crazy. This is wonderful for me, because living in Korea, it helps me know how to better respond in day by day situations. Each week, I come across new situations and new phrases that I need to learn, and Serin never seems overwhelmed by my requests. She explains things very well, and is incredibly sweet, and just an easy person to talk to! She's always positive, which makes sure that as a student, I never get discouraged in learning Korean.

Teacher Serin is so gentle and easy to talk to. Even though this is only our first lesson, I was able to express myself in my broken Korean very comfortably. Highly recommended for beginners who would like more speaking practice. Looking forward to our next session!
