Hi!! My name is Farisa, but you may call me Suzy[my nickname]. I was born and raised in Suriname [South America], where Dutch is spoken as main language. So, my native language is Dutch! I am a very optimistic person who loves helping and encouraging others when they need help or even a shoulder to cry on.
I am passionate about languages and meeting people from around the world. I am also a great fan of singing and listening to music in different languages. Nature, Animals, kids, taking pictures, those are some of the things that really makes me happy! I can thus assure you that we will have a whole lot interesting topics to talk about during my classes!Ik als leerkracht
I love teaching!! I do voluntary teaching work in Dutch, Spanish and Sarnami Hindoestani [also a language spoken in Suriname]. As you have noticed, I can also speak English fluently.
As a language [Chinese Mandarin] learner myself, I can relate to your feelings of being nervous and afraid to make mistakes. But, have no fear, for I am here!! ;-) Just be yourself and feel free to make those mistakes. I will patiently help you correcting them.

My lessons are always fun and interactive! We will practice a lot by means of dialogues and role-plays. I also believe that speaking is one of the best ways to learn a language!
I know that every student is unique. So, you may choose what teaching style you prefer. Maybe you want to improve your pronunciation, or your reading, writing and listening skills? Or you want to read a book together, review a song/video or you just want to tell me more about yourself or your family and friends? You may say it! I am extremely grateful to have such an outstanding Dutch language teacher. I truly appreciate her teaching style, her patience, and her willingness to answer any questions. Her attentiveness and ability to identify and fill any gaps in knowledge are second to none. She creates a learning environment where I feel comfortable to ask questions and make mistakes, which is so important in the language learning process. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking to learn Dutch.
