Subin

I've been enjoying lessons with Subin 선생님, whose intellectual curiosity means she can masterfully facilitate a conversation about anything. She's got the uncanny ability to seamlessly balance the (intensive!) pedagogical work of listening closely, responding thoughtfully, and taking notes on unfamiliar grammar/vocabulary—without ever missing a beat. If you're a teacher, then you know how challenging it is to make this kind of multitasking *appear* effortless. It's gotta be some kind of a pedagogical superpower. Above all, 선생님's got that energy, too, the kind that keeps things fun and alive, and it makes every lesson feel like you’re learning without even trying. 선생님, 오늘도 정말 감사합니다. 푹 쉬시고 다음에 뵙겠습니다.

She is the QUEEN of Italki^^ I am beyond grateful to have such an amazing teacher who truly goes above and beyond in helping me grow. One of the standout qualities of this teacher is her keen ability to identify my weaknesses almost instantly and thoughtfully tailor lessons and provides targeted material to help me overcome those specific challenges. Each class feels like a step forward because the learning process is personalized, and I always leave with more confidence and a clearer understanding. A wonderful first introductory class with Subin. I learnt and practiced some basic vowels and consonants in Korean and also discussed a quick plan for studying the language. Subin’s enthusiasm and energy in the class is simply unmatched. She is very friendly, motivates you to learn, corrects your mistakes with a lot of patience and explains in detail when you struggle to catch a pronunciation. I am extremely glad to have her as my Korean teacher. She is one of the best and I’m impressed with her teaching skills.

It was a great first lesson! Subin assessed my level and proposed a few lesson plans that may be suitable for me. She noticed the mistakes that I made and gave corrections and alternatives that sound more natural. Looking forward to taking more classes with her!
