Ever since I was a child, I’ve been fascinated by languages and different cultures.
My passion for language learning started when I attended an English conversation school,
and it eventually led me to become a professional Japanese teacher.
Before starting my teaching career in 2017, I spent over 13 years managing a language school and supporting many learners on their journeys.
Now, I live in Mexico and actively promote cultural exchange between Japan and Mexico.
My lessons focus on helping you speak Japanese with confidence through fun,
practical learning. If you want to improve your Japanese conversation skills and learn more

My lessons focus not on traditional grammar-based approaches,
but on what you can actually do in Japanese, adopting an action-oriented method.
From my experience teaching over 500 students at universities in Mexico and elsewhere,
I’ve found this to be the most effective way to help students become confident speakers.
Each lesson is tailored to individual goals and levels, helping students build practical
Japanese skills they can use with confidence.

In my lessons, I use the Marugoto or Irodori textbook for beginner students.
These textbooks are based on the latest theories of second language acquisition
and is highly effective.
It incorporates abundant audio input and a lesson structure designed to encourage
learners to discover and understand concepts on their own.
Many students have improved their conversational skills through learning with this textbook.
For free conversation lessons, I focus on supporting effective practice in output, which is essential for improving speaking skills.
In a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, you can apply what you’ve learned and

Ayako sensei is a fantastic teacher, one of the best here on italki that I’ve ever had in fact. Her lessons are always fun, educational and relaxed, at the same time. We joke and laugh a lot, having fun while learning, making it feel almost effortless. She always gives me enough time to try to first find my own way to convey what I want to say in Japanese, instead of ”putting words in my mouth”, and offers corrections and help when needed, which means that I get a lot of practice in actually speaking and improving my conversational abilities and independence. I can’t recommend Ayako sensei enough! Give her lessons a try, you won’t regret it!

Every class with Ayako-san is very productive and super fun. She's so disciplined and really motivates you to keep going, I feel like I have made a lot of progress because of her teaching style. One hour class just flies by. I can't recommend her enough!
