Tycoon

My learning journey with Tycoon 선생님 has been nothing short of incredible. He is an exceptional teacher with a remarkable ability to adapt his teaching methods to the individual needs of his students. He is incredibly supportive and always encourages me, even when I mix Korean with English to express myself. His patience and positivity make every effort feel valued, no matter how small. I’m truly amazed at how much I’ve progressed since I first started learning Korean with him. I’ve gained so much confidence and now find myself thinking and writing directly in Korean, rather than translating from English. As a translator, I also rely on my linguistic instincts, which have been sharpened through this process. I’m certain that I’m advancing faster than ever before, and I owe this progress to Tycoon 선생님 for keeping me motivated and making every lesson engaging and enjoyable.

It’s been 6 months since I started learning with Tycoon. I’ve seen real improvement in my pronunciation, speaking & conjugation. What I really appreciate is that our classes feel more like friends chatting rather than formal lessons, which makes learning more comfortable and less intimidating. The best advice he gave me was not to rush or be impatient, and that has made a huge difference for me. It’s helped me stay focused and enjoy the process instead of stressing over results. I highly recommend Tycoon if you need to improve your Korean conversational skills.

I really enjoyed this conversation session and I got a lot of good speaking practice. Tycoon was very patient and explained everything thoroughly. I really appreciated that he wrote all new vocab in the chat so that I could access it later to study. He really created a safe environment where I felt very comfortable taking the time to stop and think about how to say something without feeling rushed.

Tycoon is a fantastic teacher. He is friendly, approachable and patient. His way of teaching is precise and fun. He is able to assess what level I am at, what I need improvement on and he tailors the classes at my pace. The Korean language can be quite difficult to grasp but Tycoon is able to explain things so clearly to minimise confusion. A lot of teachers I tried provide lessons in the form of a lecture which is not my learning style as I don't get to practice. Tycoon's lessons are different. He reviews what I learned, and he asks me questions so that I am stimulated and challenged. He also makes me feel comfortable asking questions, no matter how silly the questions may be. I appreciate that Tycoon provides feedback. I am quite nervous when studying Korean but Tycoon tells me when I have done well - this fuels me to not give up. I genuinely believe my Korean is getting better because of Tycoon and I look forward to more classes with him.

When Tycoon offers corrections during our conversation, I find it so helpful that he makes sure I have a thorough understanding of the phrase or word I’m trying to use. I especially like that he doesn’t just make sure my word choice is correct, but he makes a point in giving me the word that has the most appropriate connotation for my intended meaning. I also really love that he puts all new vocab in the chat. I leave each session with a pile of new vocab to study! Tycoon is a great teacher and I look forward to our next session.

Tycoon is very friendly, warm and helpful. Super patient and I’ve really enjoyed our lessons. They’re always too short!
