¡Hola! I'm Eduardo, I come from Mexico but I'm currently living in New York City. I'm a native Spanish speaker and can speak English fluently as well. I can also speak some Mandarin and German, languages which I'm also studying here on italki! I've been teaching Spanish for almost 5 years. I've found the whole teaching and learning experience very enjoyable and fascinating. Besides studying languages and teaching Spanish, I'm also a composer and I love playing and writing music. I'm always looking for new music to listen to in different languages or that represent different cultures.

Patient and flexible! I started learning languages over 10 years ago, and so I know what is like to be a student. This helps me to better understand and adapt to each students needs, since we all learn differently. I've had experience with complete beginners as well as more advanced students. And have helped some to prepare for tests as well, which I'm a big fan of. I've also had experience working with doctors, and so if you're one yourself we can work on healthcare related Spanish too.

Whether you're looking to practice through conversations, or follow a more structured plan I can adapt to you. I do have a preferred book I like to use, but I'm always interested in learning about new books or methods. And I do like to give homework, just as long as it helps you to have something concrete to work on between lessons. The progress one makes as a student relies largely on the work done outside class, and so I encourage working on your own as much as possible so as to get the most out of our lessons.

Eduardo is a great teacher, he is very easy to talk to and explains himself well. I'm always nervous to speak in my target language but I feel comfortable making mistakes in our lessons because it is such a welcoming environment.

I'm happy to have had a class with Eduardo, and I look forward to more. I self-study but need guidance. Eduardo is supportive, easy-going, and able to meet me where I am and help me progress. He made class an enjoyable learning experience.
